We will be in Emerald Isle this weekend with two other couples. It looks as if the weather may cooperate for some near shore fishing. Anybody know what's biting and where? Sea Bass and Flounder on the AR's, Rock fish out at the Cape?
My name is Jim and I live in Raleigh, but I have a boat in Atlantic Beach at the Crows Nest Yacht club. I plan on going out to the jetty and the sholes tomorow, Friday and Saturday. If your intrested in going out with me, that would be great! All I ask is that you help pay for gas. I have an 02 24' Hydrasport Vector Center Console. Rods are furnished and I will be fishing for Rock. Last year at this time, I hooked monster Stripers at the sholes. So I'm sure they are there now.
I will be leaving Raleigh at 2:00pm today.
Just give me a call 919 696-0893
As you know the Rockfish are here there is still plenty of action at all the nearshore ARs with the Bass havent heard much on the Flounder lately but I am sure you will do good on the Bass.

sscottp, the stripers were at the jetty and the dead tree hole on Tuesday, but the pogie boats came in and the pogies and rockfish disappeared. We fished yesterday and the only stripers that were caught were all the way at the end of the shoals near the knuckle buoy.
There were a lot of boats on the water yesterday but very few were catching. The DMF guys who were checking coolers at the Turning Basin said they had not seen a single fish come in--that was at 3pm.
Apparently yesterday was a "dead day" for everybody. See Wahoonbox's post about tuna.
They'll be back at the shoals--hopefully this weekend.
Yesterday was a gorgeous day to be on the water. After seeing all those news reports from the Indian Ocean, it's wonderful just to be able to fish.
Tight lines.

Capt. Shane-
Would there be any liklihood of grouper holding at NWP and Big 10 Little 10? Looking for something different to do on Saturday. Will be back at the bluefins on Sunday with you. Maybe we can find one or two.
We got up too late to go to Morehead and chase the stripers. The New Years Eve party/card game lasted until 4:30 am. I understand that was a good decision.
Put in at Island harbor ran out to AR 342 and jigged up enough Sea Bass for supper.
Sorry I did not get back to ya. I fished and fished with no luck on last weekend. I want to go again this week and maybe this weekend. In fact, I will be heading to MC tomorrow to take another shot at it. If your intersted, let me know.
