Default Stripers

I know that they are killing the stripers around Oregon Inlet. How far south can you go from there and still get into some good action? Could you go down as far as the Wrightsville Beach area? I think they get a little action around Georgetown, SC. I think they catch them where the Cooper River and the Santee River come into Whinyah Bay. I am not sure about the size of those stripes though. Any help would be great. I am thinking about trying to get into some striper fishing.

If you're mean the winter ocean stripers, then the Cape Lookout area is about as far south as I've heard of them. Of course there're resident populations in the bigger rivers from Wilmington on south, but I don't know about numbers.

Hatteras is pretty much the southern end for most of the big schools.* Out of OI, usually the action starts up north near Southern Shores and slowly tends to move south as December goes along.* Right now, a lot of the action has been between Whalebone and Coquina Beach.* In January, most of the bite (when it occurs) will be further south off Rodanthe.

Cape Lookout is good choice. I heard on another board that some stripers had been spotted as far south as the Cape Fear.
