Default insurance for bulkheads and docks

We are replacing our bulkhead and backfilling to the tune of 86k.. Is there insurance that we can get to cover replacement costs in the event of storms ect.. ?

I looked around for pier and boat house insurance for Alabama. Was told there was insurance available 10-15 years ago but not today.

Hope you find something for your state.

Good luck on finding anything that will cover wave action.

Default I believe the short answer is....

NO.

I don't know of any insurance company that will cover docks, piers, bulkheads, etc.

You may be able to get coverage from Lloyds of London if you want to pursue it.

BTW I am not guranteed to get all the coverage you need just been told what I can get for people...It all depends on what is behind the bulkhead propertywise. But it can be done

When I served on my condo's HOA board, we found that the cost of insuring the dock was just not worth the coin- seems like we could replace half the dock every five years for the cost of the premiums.

You can insure almost anything if you're willing to pay the premium.....

People do insure the dock and/or bulkhead but they want to ensure the entire property to be able to cover if there would be damages. It can be done, I can do it

Default yes there is

Farm Bureau

Not sure about bulkheads but they cover pier's.
All but wave but if your building, build it higher than the recorded water and they have to cover it.
Have home owners with FB so it won't that high.
Did the shore with rock and glad I did. Never have to worry about it.
