Headed to Wrightsville with the family for a few days. Use to live there but it was 20 years ago and before my boating days. Any good inshore fishing spots recommended. What's hot there this time of year?

I have fished from a kayak and from shore at Writesville. The rock jetty at the inlet is a good place for both. Carolina rigged mullet or pinfish (whichever turns up in the castnet) will catch flounder and red drum there. I fish close to the rocks. There’s usually bluefish there too, and spanish and alberts will be at the mouth of the jetty. Just inside the jetty there used to be a dropoff that held trout. I’ve heard of people catching red drum and flounder around the docks along the channel inside the jetty. Never been to the wrecks around there. Good luck, chip.
