Default Hey Wolfpack Fans!

If you're a Pak fan I hope you got to see the game today. Unbeliveable. Hopefully Jay Davis and the offense gained some confidence scoring 21 points in the 3rd quarter. Go pak!

Y'all could oh-so-easily be 1-3 instead of the other way around.

Your special teams play is still abysmal. Look for Carolina to rise from the dead, with a surprise upset, coming your way soon.

Good news!
I was listening to an early part of the game today in the truck, score was 0-7 WF and the Pack missed that field goal attempt. (then arrived where I was going). Glad to hear they pulled it out in the end!

Yea, but we are 3-1 as opposed to 2-3 and sinking. Put the crack pipe down and face reality!

This is a typical state fan. If you guys go 3-whatever you will convince yourself that your still very good and anybody else that will listen. At least Duke and UNC fans admit when they are suckin it up on field or court.

Here something to remember. NC State will always be.........NC State. They never have won anything and never will in Basketball or Football.

Later.

Chip, I *am*.

I could use a new THT t-shirt, or...a reasonable, say $25?, gift-certificate from ShipStore.com,
which is a THT advertiser? Whatcha think?

Precious little to be cheerful about, with Tar Hell football these days, but I think they'll pull this one game out.

Who cares about Bunting -- why couldn't UNC get Terry Holland as AD? Baddour is the root of all evil.

The reason State isn't 4-0 at this point is due to all the thugs Amato keeps bringing up from Florida, of course they are the same reason the defense is so good. Penalties lost the Ohio State game and almost the VT game. Didn't watch or listen yesterday so I can't comment. Had to check out the Demolition Derby at the local fair.

Feralcat,
25 bucks from shipsstrore.com it is! May the best team win.

It’s early in the season, a lot of stuff can happen. But at least us State fans have something to cheer about. It’s a beautiful day where I’m sittin’.

Regarding close games, I used to think if a team lost by 2 points and they missed a field goal in the first half, then the missed fg cost them the game. Now I think a team plays as hard as it needs to to win. In other words a winning team would have played harder after the missed fg to get the points back. So even though the Pack won a couple of close games, they did what they had to- they played with more heart to win. Same goes for missed free throws in basket ball- if they miss 5 free throws, they’ll make 3 baskets to win simply because they try harder.

Go Pak!

Sounds good, Chip -- it's a deal!

I *kinda* see your point, what about with Va Tech, last week? It was a close game, but the Pack won on a missed field goal at the end; did that mean they had more heart? Still, in the words of Al Davis, "Just win, baby," and that's all that really matters.

Carolina fans are such crybabies. Someone comes on here to cheer for state and you have a ton of carolina fans coming out of the woodwork puting them down. I'll tell you one thing you have to give the state fans credit they sell out every game. You don't see that at carolina do you.

Feralcat, I didn’t see the plays that led up to the missed fg by VT, but here’s how I like to think it happened. The game is tied, and VT is driving. When they get barely in fg range, State’s defense stiffens and holds them. State wins the battle of the wills. But I guess the missed fg was just luck- good for us, bad for them.

Last year the ultimate example was when the Panther’s blocked Tampa’s extra point.
Another good one was L.A. losing the series to (was it) the Bucks?
Duke was the underdog when coach K was offered tons of cash to leave. You have to respect that guy.
And let’s give N.C. State credit for keeping Herb around as long as they have. Some other universities (ahem) don’t think anything of stabbing a guy in the back after three years, but the folks at State understand it can take a while to get a program going.

I’ll be at a family dinner Saturday so I won’t get to watch the game. I’m sure you’ll let me know if the Heels win!

Right.....hblac hit it on the nose. '74 and '83. The football program will have its day.

The game was great on Saturday. Jay Davis looked like a different guy after halftime. Thank goodness for T.A. What a beast. I know he fumbles on occasion but he is the man as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know why Grobe put Randolph back in as QB in the OT. Mauk had done a better job during the entire game IMO.

I have to weigh in here..........

I have to laugh at any UNC fan that even wears school colors between Aug-Dec. LMAO!!!

You guys are in for a series of BEAT DOWNS for the next month!!! Maybe you can ask Deanie Beenie to run 4 corners on Saturday so that your opponents don't hang 60 on you. LOL

Or, you could run the traditional UNC fan response, "yeah man, but wait til next year. We are loaded!!! We got the best recruiting class in the nation....BLAH BLAH BLAH!!"

I personally sent UNC a check so that Bunting gets a contract extension...I just wish you would have held on to Oh-Cain for a couple more years.

Nah, I think Carolina fans know exactly what kind of (sad) shape the football program is in, and has been, for some time.

It's NCSU fans who need the reality check, I think -- win one game, and you start talking about "National Championship." Last year y'all were what, 7-5 regular season, counting Western Carolina? 5 losses. Barely over a .500 season, and that was *with* Rivers.

This year, more of the same. Next year, same thing -- a decent, 2nd tier ACC program. I don't understand the rabid passion and support which is considerably out of proportion to the record, but hell -- I respect it, I guess.

I understand that some of our fans (really the media more than fans) were a little "over zealous" about our outlook and chances last year...it was a little early to start blowing that whistle...
But to call the pack a 2nd tier team, is just crazy....Number one defense in the NATION. We are not there yet, but not far off (a new QB will help)....def. not a 2nd tier ACC team.

Its better to have very high hopes and goals like state (if mabey unrealistic) than to expect the worst like carolina fans. At least state fans have something to feel good about. And state has gone to and won 4 bowl games in a row. Mabey we're not winning the acc every year but that IS a very big improvement and something to feel good about.

OK. Let's divide the ACC up into tiers: top 3, middle 5, and bottom 3 - is that fair? Miami and Virginia are in the top 2 spots, and you aren't going to shake that tree. That leaves State in direct competition for that final spot with FSU, MD and maybe Virginia Tech, who could easily win the next 4.

Honestly, I don't see y'all beating out all of those three teams, which would leave you...as one of the better, middle-pack ACC teams, as I said.

Last year you *had* a good QB, and still went 7-5, or 6-5 if you throw out the cupcake. A big improvement from where you were with Mike 0', but you're not a top-10 program, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Sooner or later Clemson will rise out of the cesspool, (maybe), and Carolina really won't stay awful forever (maybe!!), and when those programs wash off, they'll be trouble, as well as GaTech, MD and Wake.
