Default looking for a free/cheap boat

I am a member of a duck hunting club in SE NC. We have been using a beat up old john boat to ferry across a 30' canal to one of our blinds. Somebody "borrowed" it during the off season. Anyone have an old jon boat laying around, or for that matter anything that two people and a dog can pole across the canal? Would consider making you an honorary member of the club.*

* honorary members tote all the gear to the blind, put out the dekes, let the real members shoot their limit, fetch all the downed ducks, dress and pluck them, then cook em up for an after hunt feast.

30' sure isn't too far. Have you considered building a small bridge with on-site material? I am assuming you don't need the boat for any other reason.

A bridge might work, but landowner won't allow it (canal has to remain navigable). What we are looking for is really any old junker that still floats.

Find an old Grumman Aluminium canoe, If you have a Pro Canoe & Kayak near you, go talk to them about looking around for you.

By the way, thats no good offer for help!

I have a 10'x12' wooden floating dock in good condition to give away. I found it up a creek across from our house. It is currently tied to my dock 1.5 miles north of the Fig 8 Bridge on the ICW, 3rd pier north of marker 118, look for the 23' Yellowfin with twin 200 Sukis "Bottom Line".

Let me know if anyone is interested. First come first serve.

This sounds perfect!

Matt,

I tried to call you today, but couldn't get you. I need to set a time to meet you to look at, and probably buy your boat. Please e-mail me at fcmjr@ffast.net or leave a message in my tackle box. I will try to call you again tomorrow. fcm
