Default RE: day trips

I pull my 17' Sea Hunt down for day trips 3 or 4 times each season. I go out of Wild Life ramp in South Port ( 3HRS) or Hampstead Marina in Hampstead (2Hr 20 min.) I live in Pittsboro so I leave about 5:00 and with no traffic its a clean shot once I get on I 40. I usually wrap up about 5:00 and I am back in the drive way about 8:30 ( little extra time to stop at Smith Fields and get a BAR Q Sandwich). It makes for a long day but I always have a great time. As season slows down I might try putting in at Wrightsville beach Wild Life ramp next time I go on on October 14th. Let me know if you want to go.

Default RE: day trips

Last year we left the boat at a storage place at Wrightsville beach- $65 a month and was great for day trips. From the house we would leave at 4:00, be at the ramp by 6:00, fish all day then back at the ramp at 4:30, boat cleaned and prepreped for next trip by 5:30, home by 8:30 ( have to stop and eat at Warsaw exit). This year thing have been mixed up so boat has been at home. We also do 1 1/2 day trips, leave home on Sat around 2:00 get on the water around 3:00 if have to get bait and ice, fish a little, anchor up over night, start fishing next a.m. by 5:30, head in by 3:30- 4:00. Boat has to wait till next day for clean up.

Capt Rick: may have been close to your house- been taking the mother-in-law up to UNC for rad treatments and we go the back way from US 1 to HWY 64.

Capt. Rick,
I'm near 1010 and Kildare Farm Rd. I really like the Hondas. They are quiet, dependable and not a gas hawg....Just got back from Holden beach from a little vacation this past week. Fished everyday with very little success. Water is the dirtiest I've ever seen it and was pretty rough after 3-5 miles out. Did manage a few nice flounder in the Shallotte river inlet though.
