Default Seafood in Nags Head area?

I am making a quick business trip to Nags Head tomorrow and coming back Wednesday. No way am I going to get a chance to fish but would like to bring something back for the boss and myself. Any good local seafood houses in Nags Head/Manteo area where I may be able to pick up some schrimps and/or possibly some steamer clams?

Billy's seafood on the Colington road in Kill Devil Hills always has a good selection of freah seafood. If time will not allow you to go to KDH their is a seafood market in Wanchese beside the Fisherman's Wharf. Never purchased anything from them.

If you want a good sitdown seafood meal try Bad Barracuda's. Ate there last new year's day and it was fantastic.

Don't know about the seafood houses.

Just got back and found a place called SeaMark. Its a grocery store with a fantastic seafood dept. Got 100 steamer clams and found fresh tuna for $5.99 per lb. They had a little of everything. Also found a good sitdown at Penguin Isle on Hwy 158.

My brother just bought some little neck clams in the VA Beach area and paid $.25 a piece. What did you give out there?

Just curious.

The same. I think it was $24.99 per 100. I got spoiled as our neighbor at Harkers used to clam and I would sit on the deck and wait for him to get back. He started out at a whopping 10 cents and then went up 50% to 15 cents. I would buy a couple of hundred. I think if I had to pick one seafood clams would be in the top 3 choices.

Here is my view........as far as a seafood meal, Marc Basnight's Lone Cedar on the causeway between Nags Head and Manteo has the largest servings, best taste, and highest value for the dollar of any seafood place down here.* Kelly's is a close 2nd.*

As far as uncooked stuff, you have already heard about Billy's up on the north end.* Down here there are only two places I would recommend......Austin's Seafood at Jockey's ridge between the bypass and beach road, and Seamark in the shopping center on the west side of the bypass at the Village at Nags Head.* Both in my experience have had good quality seafood at good prices......and at Seamark you can get it steamed while you wait (using Old Bay type seasoning to the degree of "heat" that you like).
