Default Boat Lifts

Can anyone recommend a good contractor that installs boat lifts around the Havelock NC Clubfoot Creek Neuse River area? Also any recomendations on lifts? 5000# boat maybe a 9000# lift.
Any info would be appreciated

The guy who installed my lift was excellent. Can't remember his name or company name though. I will find out this weekend and let you know Monday.

My dad had one installed last year near Edenton. And the goy did a great job but was slo-------w! I mean it took him six months to finish. Apparently there are not many who do them up in his area he did a fantastic job but what a turtle!! I can get his name if you want it. Mark

Bluewater does lifts in the area. The owners name is Allen Bailey. He is a very nice guy to deal with. You can check out his work at Anchorage Marina in AB. He is in the Morehead phone book.

Thanks for the replies. Wolfpack, that would be great if you could get a name for me. I will also look up Bluewater in the Morehead book and give them a call. Mark, I think I will pass on the "Turtle" but thanks anyway!
One guy I called said he has been booked doing repairs from Isabel still and 3-6 months out. Seems like there is room for more good marine contractors in the area.

I also have heard good things about Allen Bailey. I have first hand knowledge of Derek Smith in Morehead City. He built me an over engineered marvel in Emerald Isle. His number is (252) 247-4428.

nsteel-

Fellas name is Dick Dolgas of Mud Bucket Dredging. I have his number as 252-726-2191. We have had two lifts done by Dick and have always been pleased by his work. My favorite quality about him is that when says he'll be there, he is there. He is a good guy. Good Luck with it.

Dick does good work and has heavy duty equipment that will allow him to sink the pilings deeper than most.

I'd get the 10,000 lb lift, when I priced mine the difference was minimal.

Got any recommendations on brand of lifts? What do you guys have installed? Any pros' or con's? How about being submersed? Our creek went up 10' during Isabel. Does it hurt any of the hardware, motors, etc?
My neighbor just had a Hi-Tide gear drive lift installed.
I called the same person but because she already had pilings installed, it was no problem for them to do the install of the lift only.
I am having trouble finding people that will come up to Clubfoot Creek. Most of the guys are near Atlantic Beach and it would take them all day just to get the barge up here.

Robbie Webb at Turner Marine Construction put my Tide Tamer lift in about 3 years ago.
Since then several of my neighbors have used him and no one has told me of any problems.

You might try Don's Marine Construction under Oriental in the phone book. I think he did the one next door to me a couple of years ago. There were 5 or 6 rigs in Dawson's Creek last summer but I have not noticed any lately. Let us know how you come out. I am hoping to get one soon.

nsteel,

Go with the Hi-Tide lift. We had Dick from Mud Bucket install a 16,000 lb lift for us and it is nice. We previously had one made by Tide-Tamer and there is a world of difference in the construction. We also got the remote for operating the lift when nobody is at the dock and it makes a world of difference in getting the boat "set" right away. The gear box is enclosed on the Hi-Tide, but don't know what else would be affected if the unit is submerged.
