We headed out last week for a short afternoon test of some of the new weighted jig heads to much success. Went South looking for bait for a minute and decided that wasn't going to happen so we punched in Belkie Bear into the GPS and headed that way! The bite was slow at first with not even the first sign of bait showing up on the bottom machine. Then there he was 36 ft down on the machine, right where the downrigger was holding a ribbonfish rigged up with a Fishizzle RF-5 Skirt and Fishizzle Jig Head!
Ended up with 3 Kings for the afternoon at Belkie Bear pulling dead cigar minnows. Caught two more on a pink/white King Bling and a chartreuse King Bling with "Plan B" heads on both.
Good to meet all of you too! We had a great time at The Rumble In The Jungle! Y'all put on a top notch tournament! We look forward to the tournament next year! How did y'all do?
Didn't fish it man wished I could've, we worked the docks and helped move fish/ helped with some of the tech stuff on the scales. We fished the Open the week before and Fall brawl last weekend
Fished the fall brawl last weekend and pulled a few fishizzle live bait skirts. It was cloudy that day and the kings responded well to the king bling skirts. We were slow trolling with 6 - 8 inch pogies right off the beach around the Lockwoods Folly Inlet between Holden Beach and Oak Island. We caught a 20.05 lb King here that hit the Fishizzle Pink and White skirted pogy. Out of the money but a nice fish for sure. Good tackle...I will keep pulling them in the spread.
HoosOn, we do remember meeting you now. Working the scales was probably fun in that storm! We were in the Raymarine trailer looking at the radar when that storm popped up. It was red from one end to the other and coming in hot! Let us know if y'all need anything.
Thanks for the report and support freespooled! The pink/white King Bling has been a good go to. Got any fish pics?
