Default Mytle beach fishing

I will be going to Myrtle Beach in mid November. Anyone know of the best species of fish to target this time of year, inshore or offshore. I am most interested in shark fishing. Any recommendations.

I can tell you that Myrtle Beach (and maybe the entire county??) does not allow you to "target" Sharks.
If you pull in a Shark on a 3/0 hook or a top/bottom rig, no worries. But if you pull one in and have a big hook, one larger than normally used for other non-Shark species, you may get a ticket (or worse??).

It's a tourism thing.
Guess they don't want the tourists that bring money into the local economy to believe there are things out there that have teeth.

Steve,
Thanks for the information. I have contacted a few charters and they have not made any mention of that. If you were going to hire a charter do you have any recommendations? What would you target in mid November?

Mid November, depending on the tide height is still great inshore for trout and reds. Offshore I would stay with Black sea bass, which seem to be plentiful right now.

Agree with BigPumper

If you have a boat, go to the shark hole, 25 miles E-NE of Little River Inlet, 137 degrees. N33 37.724 W78 12.426

Download the regs for size & limits -- if it were up to me, take home all you want.

You should not have a problem finding sharks. Tommy Scarborough is out of Georgetown. I saw his charter catching monster Reds the other day.

Default Finding a Fishing Charter

If you are looking for a fishing charter in Myrtle Beach or anywhere else throughout the US, visit www.waterplayusa.com. This website provides a free directory of all businesses that offer any water sport or water activity. You can find fishing charters, boat rentals, parasailing, whitewater rafting, etc.

www.acesupfishing.com/trip_info ( hope this link works.... won't work at work... damn filters.)

Aces up is the best shark fisherman in Murrell Inlet... by far. He actually tagets them. Pulling in a 10+ ft Tiger is a normal outing.

Tea 2 Sea
http://www.teetoseafishing.com/

Is a grat guide that will put you on sharks, but target other game fish. He actually has a show in SC.... reelin up the coast.

Tell him Coates had you call... should get a good discount.

Englis is a great guy, and Aces Up is a good guide. Also check out Shane on the Side Kick out of Captain Dicks. He targets sharks.

Actually, if you go up to oak island, you can "shark fish" after i think 6 o clock (check time)...which basically means they dont care what hook or bait or leader you use, and they will also allow you to chum, ive caught several 6 or 7 ft sharks off the pier, others bigger....its alot fun
