Default Were to fish in North Myrtle

Leaving this saturday for north myrtlebeach. I know were to go golfing but not were to go fishing. The peirs are ok but I would perfir to surf fish or fish at an inlet. Can you fish anywere on the beach or are there restrictions. Are there any inlets close to fish.
I plan on taking 2 penn 650 ss reels to use so that I can switch them from a surf rod " 12 ft " to pier or a inlet roods 8 ft.
Any ideas or local information welcome. Last note any good back bay charters.

Thanks Dog

Dog, I may be heading offshore one or two days next week for Kings. If the seas are decent I will be running out from 9-25 miles. If you are available you can join me if you like. My regular fishing buddies are not available next week. You can PM me for my cell number if you would like to go. The surf fishing is not that great here. You might try the back bays and marsh or rent a skiff and do the intracoastal. Good luck,~JJ~

In Cherry Grove, I believe its 52th or 53rd ave North. There is a small bridge and also a boat landing there. Seems to be good fishing. Lots of Spot, and Flounder being caught now. Not sure on the red drum, they were running strong about 2-3 weeks ago.

Good Luck

The beaches are are all public, and like Calabash said 52nd street. Is there any way to get out to the point at little river inlet other than by boat? Also the inlet between Sunset beach and Ocean Isle, or you could head south to Hutington state park or the southern end of Pawleys Island. Hey dog where in PA are you coming from?

I suggest either of the inlets between Holden and OIB or OIB and Sunset Beach. You will have to do a little walking from where you park. You can cast net some finger mullet or mud minnows for drum or flounder. No way to get to Little River inlet without a boat ride or a very long walk from Sunset.
I would take Jay up on his offer and give him some gas money.

Thanks for the info . I'm back now. We used finger mullet and caught som blues
from the surf. My friends that were with the boss and I did not want to do any boat fishing. Still had a good time surf fishing. nautiduck i live in the hershey Pa. area. We golfed a lot.
Has any one else noticed the very high sales tax. 9% sales, 11% eating out and 12 % lodging. Do not know if I will return.
