i don't know if you guys could get together on price but I cannot think of a better boat for your requirements than this Grady, and they have excellent resale value too.

Thanks. I looked at that ad more than a few times but it was well above what I want to spend for a first-and-a-half boat.

I am officially no longer looking, I bought one this weekend. 2001 Sea Hunt 172 Triton from Atlantic Marine (with help from people here on THT, a realtor, a friend of the realtor, etc, etc). Plus the great people at Atlantic - so far - and no reason to believe they won't stay that way.

She's small but I think it's the right boat for us, right now, that will have some good value when the time comes to move up in a couple of years.

Definetely, look at and see if you can water test a Maycraft. Their 19 and 20 ft. CC's are excellent. Just a solid no frills boat that'll get you there and back.

Again, we will be in the sounds around OBX, down to OI, never ocean. At first glance these boats look like a good fit for us, roomy, easy to care for, can be used for cruising and fun, low draft, flexible fishing, etc. If days are rough we can stay in - I wouldn't say we'll be hardcore. Thanks.

Need help getting focused? How many times have you posted a thread asking for help on buying a boat? Either you cannot reach a decision or you like starting threads.

What happened to the boat where you paid a deposit?

I've said that I'm having trouble deciding. I'm new and am asking questions and looking for guidance.

Nearly everyone who's replied to my threads has been a big help. Some people have even contacted me personally and offered their help to the point of looking at boats that may be close to them. Thanks.
