Roanoke and Sound, Plymouth area I fished a bass tournament out of Plymouth this summer and liked the hotels with their trailer boat parking and the Roanoke itself was very interesting. Now that Fall is coming up, I'm considering running down there again for a weekend of fishing, hopefully for some saltier species.
Questions for those of you that fish the area more often:
1. How far do I have to run to hit good tidal or salt water species?
2. What types of fish might I encounter out there other than largemouth?
3. Do the ramps get a lot of use in the Fall/early Winter, or are they pretty quiet?
4. Are trolling and casting good methods to catch fish, or do I need to find a bait shop.
Other than Plymouth, are there other small towns near either of the sounds with good fishing hotels, easy access to ramps, and decent fishing. Just curious since Plymouth is about 2 hours away.
