Random Quote: I have nice six pack abs, so nice I keep them well padded.
Important Note: This post is intended for fishermen/women whose discretionary funds are being pinched severly by the current economy.
If you can afford to charter one of the full time professional charter boats in Hatteras, by all means do so. God knows their business is hurting as badly as most and they need the revenue more than I need to go fishing.
If you genuinely cannot afford a professional charter at this point, feel free to give me a shout if you are interested.
Greetings folks!
In mid-September I'll be running a 46' Bertram up to Hatteras Village from Stuart Florida.
I plan to do spend the rest of September, October & perhaps November fishing offshore, weather permitting, of course.
Basically, it is a great opportunity to do some hands-on, world class fishing for the cost of bait, fuel & ice with a licensed Captain with 20+ years experience fishing the offshore grounds in North Carolina; not to mention an opportunity to make some new friends.
The boat is reasonably fast sporting twin 650 HP 8V92's, air conditioning, a full complement of modern electronics & safety gear.
Also, she is fully equipped with IGFA legal 30 and 50 pound class gear.
For additional information, feel free to give me a shout at 215-679-4620 (office) or 215-679-3311 (cell).

Count me in! Costs me that much to take my boat out!
I heard that!
At this point, we're hoping to pull into Hatteras around 9/20.
Please send me an email to the address in my signature or give me a shout at one of the numbers below and we'll discuss the particulars to make it happen.
Nice to make your virutal acquaintance.

Well, it took us 10 days longer than expected to get the boat up to Hatteras as the boat yard was running behind schedule.
The good news is that we had a safe journey and she's now in Hatteras in good shape and ready to fish.
I had to head North to take care of some business, but I plan on heading back to Hatteras around 10/18 although I could leave a few days earlier if I have a crew or two that wants to fish.
Give me a shout via phone or email if you are interested in a 'Fun Fishing' trip per my original post,
I did get lucky as unbeknownst to me, a fellow named Andy took these shots of the ‘Tempest’, while I was running her back up the sound to our slip at the end of our days fishing on Thursday.
Apparently, he was heading home from Hatteras to Ocracoke on the ferry. Since he was kind enough to send me the photos gratis, here's a plug for his website. http://reelbuzz.com/

What a great deal! I'm definately interested. I could get a group of 6 up to go if that's the max you can take out. We're only of average fishing ability but full of willingness to learn about Tuna fishing.
What would an average trip out and back cost? I've got a 26 footer but have no idea what a big boat would burn fuel wise.

Afternoon Brad,
Yes, Sir.
October is a great month to fish Hatteras, the tuna are starting to make an appearance, the White Marlin were just north of Hatteras when I left and they should be there in good numbers in mid month. Of course, the wahoo fishin' can be good and there's still a decent shot at blue ones and sailfish. Gaffer mahis were spotty; however, I'm hopeful they be present in better numbers as the month progresses.
I'll PM you with the particulars.

If your looking for an extra body or two for a trim during the week of 10/12, I may be interested. I believe 10/13 is the only day I have plans, and those can be altered if fishing is involved. I will be looking for a make up trip that week to go offshore.
email me with the particulars if any amanni@penskeautomotive.com or amchevy@verizon.net
or call me at 401-391-1696
Thanks
Angelo

I responded to your PM a little while ago.
If the crew I mentioned that is fishing with me at the end of the week you're down there is full up, I suggest you call Carol Turner or one of the other gals at Hatteras Harbor Marina (252-986-2166). They may be able to hook you up with a make-up charter.
Edit: BTW, I love the picture of the pooch. I've got one that fishes with me as well.
