Default Ethanol: It Is Time To Be Heard !

Folks, the first form letter was published a few days ago and only 8 letters have been sent.

We must hammer this issue just like we did with the trailering issue last year if we want change.

It Is Time To Be Heard !!!

Go to the NCORFC website and click on Form Letter on the top menu.

Either click on my signature graphic, or go to: bogueinletnc.com/ncorf

We are rockin' now folks.

Thanks so much for your support.

I cannot follow all of these posts even though I try.

If you have a comment or question, you can post it on the NCORFC site or email me directly at:

hotspot@bogueinletnc.com

We won a major battle last year. This one is major too and will take a lot of work.

We will prevail only if we unite as a group of concerned citizens.

Folks,

The NCORFC website is buzzing. Folks are using the Form Letter, reading the Damage Reports and reading all the very interesting Links we have posted.

Keep up the good work.

As of this post, 64 letters have been sent. That is a good start, but we need much more.

Have you experienced damage because of Ethanol? Want everyone to read your story? Email your story to me: hotspot@bogueinletnc.com

Pass the word, email your friends, and post this info on other sites.

bogueinlet.com/ncorfc

Many have emailed me asking why I am doing this. I am doing this because it is the right thing to do for the good citizens of NC.

We work hard to able to afford our off road toys and when they end up in the shop because of Ethanol, well, something needs to change.

I was a victim of Ethanol damage last summer, as a matter of fact, it ruined my entire summer. Thousands of dollars and many man hours later, things were back as they were. This is getting to be more common that not in NC.

It is very obvious that our government did not properly research all of the short comings of Ethanol.

Subject: North Carolina Off Road Fuel Coalition

Dear Legislators,

I wish to inform you of an organization that has a mission to help all
NC citizens that own/operate off road equipment such as boats, farm
equipment, jet skis, snow mobiles, ATVs, small planes, generators, etc.

The North Carolina Off Road Fuel Coalition (NCORFC) is a grass roots
organization made up of NC citizens that have a mission. That mission is
to educate NC citizens about Ethanol Blended fuels and to make some
changes in NC law as pertains to the: sale of, distribution of, labeling
of, and regulation of Ethanol Blended fuels.

The Founding Fathers of the NCORFC are the same folks that helped with
House Bill 2167 in 2008. This group made history in NC by overwhelmingly
overturning Governor Mike Easley's VETO of the bill. Now, they are at
work again for the citizens of NC.

The NCORFC's number one goal is to have distributors provide non-highway
taxed "off road fuel." This "off road fuel" will be non-Ethanol Blended
fuel. The NCORFC also wants to ensure that marinas are never forced to
sell Ethanol Blended fuels. The NCORFC wants all pumps in NC labeled
with the percentage of Ethanol Blend they are selling, and the State to
put regulations in place to randomly test the Ethanol Blend that is
being sold.

Does the NCORFC think this can happen? YES.

It seems Ethanol Blended fuels first showed up in Eastern NC, where most
boaters are, figure that one out.

NC citizens are being hammered with repair bills and many are ready and
willing to support NCORFC.

You can read much more information about Ethanol and its affects on the
NCORFC website: http://www.bogueinletnc.com/ncorfc

I am a firm supporter of their mission and will do whatever it takes to
help them achieve their goals.

Thank you in advance for your kind cooperation and support.

Sincerely,

Barry Turano

I just have to share these comments from a NCORFC supporter.......

Since the advocates of ethanol are so convinced there is nothing wrong with ethanol, I propose the following:
I will gladly organize a group of investors to purchase a fleet of well maintained propeller driven aircraft. We will fuel these planes with ethanol blended fuel and let them sit for a month. Then I challenge the ethanol producers and advocates to board the airplanes and fly them. I bet I have no takers.

Thanks,

Capt. John Lawson

I don't think anyone would take him up on his offer.I just have to share these comments from a NCORFC supporter.......

Ok here is a question. I have been using Ethanol gas for the past few years. I have been using Stabil, Ring free, Startron. (Sometimes I think I'm running more additives then gas). Here is the question. I know that going from non ethanol to ethanol caused problems. How about going back the other way? Ethanol to non ethanol. I seem to remember something about MTBE and Ethanol not being compatible.
If this is in the wrong place please feel free to move it.
Barry

Barry,

Mixing gas with MBTE and gas with Ethanol is very bad. The mixture creatures a cocktail that will eat most any fiberglass, plastic, rubber, polypropylene, etc. You just have to know what you are getting before you pump it in the tank.

The response to your letter has been posted on the NCORFC forum. Feel free to sign up over there and post all you want. That is what the site is for, to help our cause.

So basically if this goes through and I start buying gas from a marina that sells non ethanol I should run my tank down to empty!?
As of now my boat is on a trailer. It will be in a wet slip come the spring so the best thing to do is run the tank down and hope that marinas will sell Non Ethanol. Thanks for the info.

That is correct Barry, but it will take some time to get our mission accomplished.
