Default What to do????????

About the current weather pattern? Is it ever going to change? These SW winds @ 10-15 of tough on fellas with smaller boats. A three foot sea aint that bad but when you have that with a 4 second period, its kinda tough. Just ranting. Got the itch and can't scratch it.

It was so bad yesterday a friend that runs a 64 Ommie Tillet turned around out of MHC yesterday and returned to the dock, so don't feel too bad. It blew 30 knots most of the day yesterday on the beach.

Last summer we had the same thing happen. A few weeks of crappy sea's and thunder storms during the dog day's. I am just glad it is happening while my ankle heals. We had a few weeks last year where the weeds were so bad you could not troll. I have not fished all month due to my ankle injury, I think we will have at least another week of unstable weather. And then you have to get out to 80 feet or so to find kings during August. Might be a good idea to fish inside the ICW. ~JJ~

I'm with ya.... my last hurray before school starts back and we're at Holden Beach for till Wednesday.

It was too rough to fish the ICW this morning. I'm going to try it tomorrow, maybe fish some docks. Tried drifting for flounder and it's just too much wind.

Keith - have you tried running the ditch up threw snows cut and popping out on the other side of the shoals? The wind may still be too bad this week end but when it is from the south, that is always an option... I am sitting tight this week end myself.

No, I'm kinda slow. I hadn't thought about that. I will now. That's a good idea. I'm gonna stay put this weekend as well. Hoping for better next weekend. Thanks Jim.

Yes .... Pogies are still everywhere - Mullets of differnt sizes - Tiger Minnows & small Shrimp ........
Some Kings & a lot of Spanish right off the beach .........
My charter buddies have been doing well on Spanish & Sharks, but mostly fishing inshore for Flounders, Reds, Sheepshead because of the sea conditions .....

Low water has the Reds in the back bays schooled up tight ........

Surf scouting trip on Tues, saw that my favorite shoals changed again, spotted lots of different types of bait & even a few Reds. Had clean water until the wind kicked up, then had a very defined tide line less then 75 feet from the beach .........

Hope this helps ....... ICM

My ankle is still very weak and painful, but I have been walking on it a bit each day without the crutches.
I figure a few more weeks and it will be OK.
I am going to the mountains Aug 8-15 but I will not be doing any wade fishing. I will be fishing from the shore line on the river up there. I will probably start going back offshore when I get back if the fishing is worth it. ~JJ~
