braid question

SO - I am getting ready to Bluefin fish this winter. I need to put line on my 50W's.. I am wanting to put @ 500 yards of 150 power pro braid and top shot with mono... that is the plan. So, are their any advantages to having it put on at a tackle shop VS putting it on myself? What recommendations on the # top shot mono? and what type knot to tie them together, albright? and then last, after it is ready with the floro on last, do I really need to wet pack the reel??
