Not so sure it is all that rare along our coast actually. About three years ago on a flat calm day August day, I loaded up my little SeaRay with some extra fuel and went out to U352 with a buddy of mine. We trolled all day and nada! We saw a dive boat at the German submarine and decided to join the fun. I always keep my snorkel gear in a bag in my boat, as I love to snorkel at the Rock Jetties when fishing is slow. I spent about 30 minutes in the water, not that I could actually see anything but had a blast. I often wonder if doing this offshore is a wise idea, however I have always loved the sea and I never think about seeing "Mr. White". Oh well, fear can be a good thing on occasion I guess.

I saw a lot of sand tigers in the 10'+ range diving off Wrightsville, at the John Gill wreck, and that old cable layer ship which I cant remember the name...

Came face-to-face with a 7' hammer directly under the dive boat once...
He stayed there for a couple of minutes, and so did I, but gotta admit I kept the ladder between us the whole time!

But if I saw what was on the video, I would un-ass the water in maybe 2 seconds!
