Default Kings are here!!

We fished sunday 5/9 off of oak island. We trolled the beach and yaupon reef. We picked up 2 kings and a nice spanish in about 2 hours of fishing, Lost 2 other kings and many boats had 5+ kings in the boat and a few cobia mixed in. A 42 pound Cobia was caught off of Ocean Crest pier and many kings also. The kings, cobia and pogies are here!! Go get em!

Smoker;

What were you trolling? Cigars, ballyhoo, hardware?

You had better luck than us. We also fished Oak Island. Threw the net once and filled up the livewell. We trolled the beach, the pier, Yaupon and McGlammery and had a big zero. Fished a very long tide line at the inlet with no luck also. Maybe next time.

We caught some kings and dolphin...but they were 30+ miles out of NRInlet. We caught them all on live cigar minnows that we jigged up.....nothing big ...all about 12-14# or less. Greg

We were using live pogies and the kings were around 12-15 pounds but heard of some larger 30+ comming out of yaupon.
