Oregon Inlet Friday and Saturday "Go South my son" was the tone Friday as we ran the beach until we saw Diamond Shoals. Beated it east and caught tunas, dolphins, a wahoo and a white marlin in the blue 75 degree water. Decent day, no fish lost on the wire or the gaff and all baits swam like hell.
Saturday they called for 3-5's and as usual if yoiu add them together you have it correct. Very steep 6 footers just suck I don't care what boat you are on. Ran south again to Hatteras into the slop for 2 hours and actually fished below the shoals. If the weather had been nicer we would have kept going and fished the rockpile as that's where the stick boats have had all the tunas to themselves lately.
Fished around there for a while but the SW blow had broken up all the edges. Worked back to the point and picked some dolphin and tunas, pretty slow day but the 1/2 oz split bills managed to stay down and swim w/out showing any white [meaning they are on their sides].
Actually heard of two swordfish caught trolling this weekend. |
