Anthony,

Didn't I see you recently bottom fishing on Carolina Outdoor Journal? You're kinda famous. I think that episode was taped a few years ago.

No Tom, I don't know them. Most of them came from Mountain Bank I believe so if you have some stories, tell away. Not sure about trading boats but you can sure ride along on a trip sometime.

Spring Fever,

I don't think so. We have done several bottom fishing show for the Carolina Outdoor Journal. If you could tell me what we were catching, I can tell you about when it was shot. Thanks.

Anthony,

It was last Sunday's episode. It was only one 5-7 minute segment. You were catching grouper. I think they needed a filler to make up the 30 minutes.

Live in New Bern. I work for a financial institution in Wilson and my wife is a nurse at the hospital in Greenville. We have three kids - two girls 17 & 14 and a jr 13.

Just recently got a boat big enough to do any offshore fishing so still a bit green around the gills. Love this website because it is full of info for someone like me. Any help or advise is always welcome.

We normally put in at Oriental and cruise the ICW to Morehead/Beaufort. (going there this Friday) When not on the big boat we drag the kids up and down Dawson's creek with the ski boat.

We are always being asked why we don't move closer to work. Our answer, cause we are looking to move closer to the water.

We have a 238 Wellcraft W/A with a 250 Johnson. Don't have a official boat name yet but my wife came up "Hook me Up"
The reason behind this name:
We were just coming into the turnbasin and a boat was clearly having problems. I ended up pulling them to the ramp by Marine Fisheries. They wanted to pay me but I just asked if they ever saw me on the water again to just hook me up.

Anyway, looking forward to getting to know everyone and hopefully get to meet you. (Unless you didn't guess my name is Dennis. Wife's name is Cathy)

Dennis,
You're in my neck of the woods down there. I'm from Bayboro in Pamlico County. Though I'm currently living in Chapel Hill for school. I've spend many hours in Dawson's Creek, beautiful place. I skipped a lot of class in high school to go enjoy being on the water out there with friends.

Tarheel,
We actually live in Reelsboro but have a New Bern address. We moved there from New Bern about 12 years ago and love it. Kids go to pamlico schools

On a sad note, did you hear about the 19 year man that got killed last Saturday around 1pm? They haven't released his name yet. There were three people, a man, his son(19 year old) and a friend that put in at Lee landing. About a mile from the landing the steering cable broke, the motor jacked around and threw everyone out. They found his body around 7pm. No one was wearing a life jacket. I'm guilty of not wearing one but when you hear something like this it makes you think.

Let me know when you get a break, maybe we can pull a few into the boat or some from the cooler!

David Smith
Charleston SC
1983 Grady White 24' Offshore with new 250hp motor.
Work as physician at VA hospital. Great job unfortunately this only leaves me weekends to fish.
Always need someone to fish with.
Wife and two teenagers. Unfortunately they take up my weekends.
Always looking for someone to fish with.

If you are ever coming to Charleston feel free to call and join me for fishing. I just moved here last fall. If you have an extra five million dollars to give me I'll take it. That should free me up for fishing during the week.

Let's see, I worked with a Scott King at BCI, and I worked with a Scott King at Sprint.

Does the name "Smurf" ring any bells ?
