Default Holden Beach Charter Reccomendation

Hey guys-
Going to be in Holden Beach for a week in mid June and looking for any charter reccomendations. Also what should we target/what fish are hot that time of year typically? I am a seasoned angler, have my capt license, run a 23 Seacraft, and mostly fish inshore and a bit offhsore up here in New England. I found one operation called Holden Beach Charters. Is he any good??
Thanks, I appreciate any thoughts.
Brad

Yea Right Charters out of Southport or Ocean Isle Fishing Center out of Ocean Isle are good choices.

Oifc are good guys, but capt keith is awesome. Went bluefin fishing with him and he immediately put us on the fish. Also he's grown up fishing off Holden and can teach you a lot. Not to mention he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

Brad, I have fished with Mr. Keith Logan of Stand Down Charters. First class operation with best local info on fish. June will be a great time for dolphin, sail fish and killer grouper if you want to run to the gulf. Kings, spanish and large flounder near shore along with large selections of bottom fish. My pick would be a run to the gulf to try for a white or blue marlin then pick up a couple of 20 to 40 pound dolphin and wahoo. If seas seem a little rough for this run live bait for kings. Keith runs first rate equipment and electronics. Check out his site I don't know the address but I think it is under Stand Down Charters in Holden Beach. Good luck.

You are gonna be in Holden Beach and you would be way ahead of the game to go with Captain Keith Logan of the Stand N Down charters. He works out of Holden Beach, has the experience, a first class boat and tackle and puts the effort in his trips. He runs a first class operation and he's one of the nicest captains down here. I'll gaurantee you a more enjoyable trip with Capt. Keith than anyone else in the area.

Default Holden Beach

Reely Misbehaving with Capt Ricky Holden is good and so are the guys at the Ocean Isle Fishing Center (OIFC). I have met the owner of Yeah Right at fishing schools and so forth and he seems like a great guy. He was always willing to take time to talk to me and until the post on this site, I have never heard anything but good things about him. Anyone can have a bad day, sometimes I limit out on Grouper and sometimes all I can find are Grunts and Sharks - it's fishing! If I knew how to catch them everytime, I would be a stockbroker. Good luck and thanks for visiting our coast.

I've been to a Yea Right charter blue fin siminar but yet seen a pic of him with a blue fin . I've herd him on the vhf telling other captains that he was at the black jack fishing spot but was setting near him at 150 350's 15 miles inshore of of it . Also had a friend that fished with him and he told him that they were 75 miles from land catching grunts and jacks if this was true he would have been in over 1000' of water . I also know that he has been on other captains web sights and said that they were no good and that he was the best . Should I go on . He is a nice guy . But it is time for the lies to stop . Didn't want to go here but think it is time to let people know the truth . I am not a captain so there is no reason why I will profit from these remarks . Sorry Yea Right but the truth hurts sometimes .

Brad,

I fish out of Holden Beach. I bet if you get on this forum closer to the date you could hook up with some locals who would be glad to take you along. Splitting gas and bait expenses would be much less $$$$. Hope you enjoy your stay.
