Default Any Smith Mtn Lake boaters here?

I know this is a Carolinas forum. I'm in Greensboro, but enjoy spending time on this VA lake. I would be interested in marina and slip rental recommendations.

Thanks,
Mark

If they would ban jet ski's off it, it would be my favorite lake. Back in the day, before those things, it was wonderful.

Yeah, there are a lot of them. And the lake is pretty congested during summer weekends, but week days and off-season is still very nice, imo.

Do you boat? If so, where? Have you ever spent time on Belews Lake? If so, how is it?

I grew up on this lake and now I fish it in winter time for stripers. The lake is so congested in the summer I stay away. The only one I know of is Smith mtn. dock and lodge, where the big carp hang out at the dock.Penhook has a good boat ramp and theres also one on the right going towards Vista Point.

Come to the NCWaterman Triad Chapter meeting in Kernersville. There are a lot of guys there that can chat with you about Belews. We have at least one member that lives on it.

I frequent SML in the warmer months. Great lake.
