I believe Murriels Inlet is the closest or Winyah bay at George Town. Winyah bay, will have about a 14 mile run to the breakers. A lot more back water to fish. Murriels inlet has been on of my favorite since my kid years. Long time!!!

Murrells Inlet has no access to the intercoastal waterway. If you keep at Heritage you will have to go out of Georgetown. Aprox 12 miles down the bay to inlet from Georgetown Landing. Either that or keep boat at Murrells Inlet.

If you are already in Pawley's, Georgetown is your best option.

Georgetown I would say. The folks over at Georgetown Landing are very nice and helpfull. They can help steer you towards some fish until you can meet other locals and figure out a few spots of your own.

I use the South Island Ferry Landing. You do not have to deal with the 12 mile ride to the Jetties.
