jb2sea, no I never have,been here 6 years now, I get regular tax bills for autos, about 2 months ago the county(Union) sent me a sheet wanted to know what I paid for my boat trailer how big it was ect. I sent that in and about a month later got a tax bill but as of yet nothing for the boat. It is registered and all, I bought it out of county but not out of state.

I found this page on the NC dept of revenue. It does state that individual to individual sales are occasional sales and are not subject to a sales/use tax. Sweet!

Just confirmed, NO sales/use tax if individual bought a used boat from another individual. Whoever originally posted that, thx a lot. It's not every day you save $1500!.
