Default Hatteras Landing

Anyone familiar with this marina complex in Hatteras? Nice facility? Convenient to inlet with decent channel? Secure if I leave my boat unattended for a week or two? I am planning a trip for the first part of April and have never been there so I am looking for some place where I could also get nearby accomodations as well as dockage.

I assume it is still early in the season at that time and not too crazy with tourists.
Thanks.

It's a nice place. I have always stayed at Oden's dock when I fish out of hatteras.

Yes to all of those. Very convenient to the inlet. You will need to check well ahead of time for slip availability.

Thanks for the responses. I only draw about 3 feet but it is an inboard so hitting bottom is a very bad thing. But if there are bigger boats running the channel, I guess it will be okay.

Agree with above, nice people and a nice place to stay. When you leave the marina you will have the island on your left. Its about a 10 minute or maybe a little more run to the inlet. The one thing to watch for is the channel (before you get to to the inlet) turns to the left, hooks back to the right, sort of like a horse shoe. You can actually see the markers straight ahead of you (before you turn left) after the hook back to the right part and you can make the mistake of never going left first. Can give the illusion of just going straight. Look to go left, circle back to the right, then back to more or less parelleling the island again.

Yup plenty of water there for you. Many boats going through that draw 4 or even 5 feet there. Follow the charters out on your first morning and you'll be fine.
