Default Elctrncs Installer / Yamaha Mech. Morehead?

Do you have a good Yamaha mechanic and / or electronics installer that you can recommend in the Atlantic Beach / Morehead City area?

On that same line of thought ..... what is a fair hourly fee for either service?

Thanks in advance for your local knowledge.

Tony Deibert does a great job of electronics installation. His number is 252-646-6729. Great guy. Tell him Doug Smith sent you. I can't remember what he charged to put the electronics in my Parker, but it seemed reasonable at the time. Good clean installation.

Give Larry Lord a call 252 725 1731, fair price on great work (electronics installations).

The guys at Coral Bay Marina are very good and Steve is one of the best electronics riggers I have seen.

I've always gotten good outboard service at reasonable prices at Radio Island Marina. Steven Dixon is the Yami tech.

Larry Lord (number above in a previous reply) is top notch. He has done several electronic installation jobs for me. I like his work, his price and importantly his attitude and willingness to help a guy out later with questions and advice.

Radio Island Marina does good mechanical work. They do a good job maintaining my boat.

My Father in law had good luck with the guys at Morehead Marine on his Southport so I may give them a try over there. I just didnt know if any of them stood out of the pack with price and / or quality service. Sounds like a few of them do! Thanks again.

little tooth- If you trailer, you have more options. If not, some of the recommendations are on the water, and they have forklifts to remove the boat for service. You may already be aware, but the Contender dealer isn't too far away in Sneads Ferry. -Good luck.

Thanks Drifter .... I do have a trailer so that makes it a bit easier. I actually wasnt aware of the dealer in Sneads Ferry. I have been trying for months to try and get someone to call me back from Contender with some local contact info with no luck. Thanks for the heads up!

For electronics, I am sure there a lot of good ones. I have had great experiences with Fernando at TW electronics next to 70 west, as far as quick service that is good. 252-808-0188. Feel free to drop my name.

The best yahama mechanic around is Chris at Jones Bros. But be prepared to wait two weeks. But, the wait is because he is the best. 252-726-8404

Chris is who my father in law used on his Southport and he has been nothing but happy with him. He is probably who I will use since time is not a huge issue. Im typically away from the boat for weeks at a time anyway.

Outer Banks Boat Harbour on Harker's Island can help as well, they installed my electronics and have a good yammy guy who came from Radio Island marine. 252-728-6004. Alan and Cyndi are good people to deal with too.

The rates I've been charged are $60/hour

After Golf got it right - Steve @ Coral Bay Marina is a Yamaha Master Technician - their highest and most difficult certification to achieve. He has also rigged several boats for me - fastidious and professional! I beleive their shop prices are $85.00/hr.

Drifter ... thanks! Hopefully they are a little more responsive than Contender corporate.

Outer Banks Harbour seems the most reasonable by a long shot at $60/hr. The lowest rate I have found is $75/hr. elsewhere. I may have to check that out.

Thanks!

Chris will do a great job and won't over charge you. He is the only one who will touch my motors besides me. He works on alot of the contenders around morehead. He also fishes with me on. This is the best time to get work done because most of the repair work is slow.
