cast netting shrimp

Any special secret to catching some shrimp this time of year? I caught a few where the canal runs into the ICW in shallow water (right up against the bank) back in the spring. Going speck fishing next week and would likely do some live bait fishing.

Get a few cans of dog food.Punch holes all around in it and tie a string on to it.Throw it out to were you can throw your castnet and let it sit for a half hour.Do a few like this and you should be able to catch enought bait.

Catch them at low tide....especially at the mouth creeks going into flats.....I'll usually go into a creek as far as I can go....
18 inches depth.
