Best route to Corolla from Greensboro - The Hull Truth

Hey guys, I know the drive from Greensboro to MHC like the back of my hand but the trek up to Corolla is new to me.
My fiance and I are planning a wedding in Corolla and are trying to figure the quickest route since we will be heading up there quite a bit doing some planning(fishing for me).

My guess would be I-40E to I-540E to Hwy 64E, then go north when you reach the ocean.

Drifter's directions are the most direct and traffic should not be a problem this time of the year.

That is the most direct route, except I would go north on Hwy 12 instead of using the beach road!

My daughter lives in Greensboro and i live in KDH. The best way that i have found is HWY 421 from Greensboro to Siler City then HWY 64 to the beach. Depending on what time you go through Cary drpends on how long it takes.

I second I-40E to I-540E to Hwy 64E.

Skip the 421 to 64 route unless you are going during rush hour in Raleigh (then consider taking it). Once you get to 540 it is smooth sailing.
