Default Thinking of selling my boat.....

Will have the first little one fairly soon which will utimately cause a dramatic decrease in my boat outings. Anyone have suggestions on best routes to go with selling a boat? Anyone ever use Carolina Trader for this? The last car I sold in there went in three days! Just hoping to gain some knowledge from the experience you guys have.

A good broker with a strong following will move your boat faster than any other method and reduce the headaches and wild goose chases the 'tire kickers' will send you on.

Keep the boat, it's not as bad as you think. Besides you will want an excuse to get out of the house occasionally. Congrats on the little one.

Agreed! Going on my third little one and the boat is wonderful for the family and for me personally. A small piece of advice from an experienced father is make sure that you do not abandon the little things that keep you sane. You will need them!

Cheers and congrats!

Little Tooth,

You just don't know how true that is. Well said. Our recent purchase of a 2001 26' Reg was probably not what I should have bought two weeks before the birth of our second son this August. But I will say this, it has been great to have and the family loves it.

I bought my current boat a week after my second one was born. I thought the same thing you did, and I'm glad I got it. Work has kept me from using the boat more than my family has. Next year I hope to carry them more.

The only time my daughter (now 5 months old) cries on the boat is when we slow down. My 5 year old son says he NEVER wants to get off the boat. When I let him *help* me drive, he always mashes the throttle down... that's my boy

Little ones are $$$, but I'd keep the boat if you can.

I bought my boat last February and have my first little coming this January....selling the boat, hell no! It may have a little less usage this summer, but thats temporary! Plus the trips I do get will be all that much more enjoyable and with gas being as expensive as it is, maybe cutting back a little would be good.
