Took a deposit on my 21 cc yesterday and they are taking delivery Sat. Time to move up a little. Looking in the 24-27 ft walkaround range. Problem is I dont want to trailer that size boat anywhere. Does anyone have or know of someone/somewhere that I could store a boat this size in or near Atlantic Beach or Morehead City. Just trying to get an idea of whats available and the price range as this will make impact what size boat I go with. Thanks
For trailer storage try Goulds Boat storage. 1-800-833-4080. Tell them Larry gave the number. For dry stack try the Crows Nest Marina 252-726-4048. Good luck
Gould's is where I have been keeping my 21 cc but I am wanting to get away from the hassle of loading and unloading a 24-26 ft boat especially if I go with a Carolina Classic 25 or something like that as far as weight.
Shameless plug for the folks at Radio Island Marina Club, if your looking to buy. New docks, bulkheads, club house and 2 new lifts. I believe they can rack a 26' w/hard top inside.
not in the position to buy right now. just looking for either dry/wet slip around mhc/atlantic beach. my girlfriend is sick of messing with the trailer and i figure if i move up to a bigger boat she is really going to hate it. anymore opinions?
You might want to consider buying your boat from a place that has dry stack / wet slips also and can offer the slip/stack rental as part of the deal. There is a place around MHC that sells Wellcraft and other brands, forget the name now, that does this. At least for dry stacks, short of a small miracle, that's the only way I see getting one right now in that area. Back in the middle of winter I called every single place in that area and no luck.
I will look into considering this. I am now torn between buying a boat that has a trailer and one that does not. I have never owned a boat that couldnt be trailered and afraid i wouldnt like the idea of being at someone else's mercy. Opinions please.
Jay,
There is a Gam add for a wet slip in the MH area, $750/season?? Use the trailer for off season storage.
That tel # is (631) 220-3274, been advertised for the last 2 weeks. Hope this helps.
hey Huntersun, thanks for the info but that slip rental is just until end of sept. If anyone else knows of anything please let me know. I would really like to find something that I could go ahead and rent for next year as well so that i know i have a slip for the upcoming year. doesnt have to be a huge slip, something that will hold a 25 Grady Sailfish
I kept my boat in rack storage for two years at Town Creek Marina in Beaufort. It was very convenient to just tie up for the weekend and not worry about the ramp. It wasn't cheap at $2200/yr for a 20' boat plus tips.
I just sold my boat last week and have the slip paid through August, should be available if you want it.
