On my way to the coast Friday, I filled up my truck with regular 87 octane for $2.63 per gallon. Noting the rising gas prices, I thought to myself how the oil tycoons are sticking to too us again. The following day, I rode my boat to New River Marina for a fill up. As usual, they have mid-grade fuel (89 octane) cheaper than the regular gas I buy on the road ($2.55 vs $2.63). Every other marina I have visited charges out the @#$ for gas. I know that they pay the same price as the other marinas do, they just elect not over charge their customers for gas. I think that this is a very admirable trait and I am glad the owners are putting the customers first. I don't know if any of the New River Marina owners/managers follow this forum, but just in case, I wanted to say thanks!

BTW, I am not advertising. Just a happy customer.

.. As much bitchin' as is done over poor service, it's only "right" that anything good gets recognized as well.. Seems like almost a community service ta me.!! Now I know a place where I can fill up w/o taking it in the shorts (from the store, anyways, Ayoob and the oil barrons still get a poke at me)..

..While I'm ignorant about boating issues, such a thing would seem to be at least a small factor in a decision to try out the boating/fishing in a new area..
..If anybody has somethin' to say about that they can "ingest ca-ca"..

Not only is the fuel a good price, but the customer service is A++. They tend to not raise it until they get a shipment of fuel again. It seemed all last summer that about every time I went to go fill up, as soon as I filled up they raised the price. A bunch of good guys with great prices on the samll stuff too. I know I will miss seeing them this year as I am now in CT.
