Re: Charleston Wedding (Dunes West), where to stay.
closest landing will be in dunes west then..or the brickyard..The landing at 41 bridge is for members only now and expensive There is a private landing in dunes west that is in the wando river...If your gonna be there than that's your best bet unless you want to put in at cooper river{remley's point landing}10 bucks with a residents address in dunes west..Pay at the gate[must have a current resident address],or they can call you in a free pass....Hope this helps P.S. Brickyard is residents only ,too...Not many options for non-residents

Re: Charleston Wedding (Dunes West), where to stay.
Charleston Harbor Resort is the name of the hotel on the harbor. But it does not have a landing, however, Shem Creek and Remleys are about 5 mins away from the hotel and both have landings. Up towards Dunes West, you could put in at IOP Marina but will cost 20 dollars to launch and you can keep your boat and trailer there for the weekend for a small fee. They may waive the lauch fee if you keep your boat there with them,. who knows. But that is about 20 mins away probably from Dunes West, depending on traffic. There is the landing on 41, but I have never launched there and it sounds like it is private from what the guy said above.

Go up 17 about 5 miles past 41 and turn left on Chandler Rd, Paradise Island public ramp is at the end of the road, about a mile from 17. Short run to Dunes West and about 35 min to the harbor from there. Just don't go at dead low tide.

Re: Charleston Wedding (Dunes West), where to stay.
the wedding is definitely at Dunes West, not Wild Dunes. My main goal is to go to the wedding saturday, then get a few hours on the water sunday afternoon before having to return to home. Close proximity to the ramp isn't important, I would rather be close to the wedding, I will be coming home straight from the ramp.
