Shore fishing around Morehead/Beaufort/Atlantic Beach Next Week

Hey everbody,

I'm going to be spending next week around Morehead City and Beaufort. Is there any thing biting close to shore at this time of year. I'm planning on bringing 7' MH travel rod and spinning reel. Any info. on what, where and what to use to catch them would be greatly appreciated.

They caught a bluefin in Archers Creek in 3' water. Make sure you have a tuna permit.

Oddly enough I do have a tuna permit. Do you think a 15 lb traveling outfit and a DOA shrimp will do the trick

Try the jetty at fort macon state park and fish both sides. You might catch a trout in this area. Parking is free but limited to park hours and it is a good walk to the fishing. You can fish both the ocean and the sound from this spot and I have had some luck there. Good luck to you.
