Along with the seafood festival, the Oh Boy! Oberto Redfish Cup Championship will also be held in Morehead City this weekend (Oct 6-8). Eventually, I think it will be televised on ESPN2.

$75k to the winner.

I am really impressed these guys did well on the first day, and this is the championship round for them. Good luck fellas catch em up.

Is there a central location for this? Morehead waterfront along with the rest of the crowd? Or is it centered at one of the marinas?

Got passed by the Stihl sponsored boat roaring down the waterway towards Topsail.......I guess they'll run a gazillion miles like the SKA teams do!!

I hope to see this one. Would like to know more about how to get Redfish in the Morehead area. Been fishing for years here and not got one yet.
Interesting thing....I was down last thursday, and guess who I bumped into at the ramp? Roland Martin! Never met a celebrity before. Thought that was pretty cool! Wish I could have talked to him for a while...seems to be a very interesting person. He was pushing off when I pulled in, so was only able to say a few words and wish him luck.

Would have liked to see the approach folks use for redfish in this area.
