It'll do fine, only hard part will be finding a place to launch!! Ive been just starting out up there the past couple weeks, I put in at Big Oaks landing down at the dam, on the GA side, but Im sure there are other open too. I launch and load by myself so I have to have deep water and a dock to keep it at. The Hybrids have been schooling down on the southern end of the lake, we found a good school last night about 30 minutes before sunset. The lake is down about 5 or 6 feet. But it sure seems like more.
I have a 21 ft. CC with a deep vee. How well will it do on Lake Hartwell.
It will work great. What are you looking for??cruising, fishing ??
I have not been in a few weeks and it will be a couple of months before I hit the water again(deer season) but the stripers have been hitting jigs and roadrunners on leadcore line around the dam and in the main channels. From what I would guess right now the lake is starting to turn over and in a few more weeks you should be able to catch stripers on freelines and live herring.
If you are interested in stripers visit greenville striper kings web site and they have a message board that has some good tips and folks that will be glad to help you.
Hartwell is marked very well with the navigation bouys but I would pick up a map so you can learn the lake or if you have a lowrance unit that will use the Navionics chip that would be even better.
Good luck

what part of the lake will you be on, and do you have a T-top. The boat should be more than sufficient, only problem might be if you have a top, some of the bridges in the upper lake are a bit low, this will only restrict you minimally. don't forget to check out keowee & jocassie (sp?), they are very nice as well. I was at clemson from 2000 though spring of 2004, had my folks cruiser up there nearly the entire time, some of the best times I've ever had. if you want a good lakefront bar & grill, check out Charlie T's, it is at US76 between anderson & clemson by land, and excessable by water as well.
I HAVE A 1989 21 FT CC STARCRAFT, AND WOULDN’T WORRY ABOUT THE LAKE LEVEL AT THIS TIME. While the Full Pool level is 660, it rarely reaches that mark. The current level is at 653.09. and expected to drop to 651.8 feet by Nov. 3. according to the Greenville News[see link below for more info].
Right now, most if not all the regular ramps are in good shape water depth wise. If you stick to the major ramps you should be fine. Even at the 651 level there shouldn’t be much of a problem. I would suggest Portman’s [exit 14 on I-85] for security of your truck. If you don’t know the area an $8.00 launch fee isn’t much to pay for peace of mind.
One thing to keep in mind when on the water is that the trees are cut back along the bank 3 feet above the 660 full pool mark and makes the lake look lower than it is.
HOWEVER THERE ARE A LOT of trees under the water especially from the 630 ft level down, so if you troll watch the graph or you’ll lose a lot of stuff.
I hope this helps you?

I too am a Tiger grad but did not fish for stripers back in the day. So I hired two different guides and told them up front I wanted to learn the lake. Like tprice mentioned, the stiper kings website is great. just ask for some references.
I'm moving to Columbia, SC next year (I know, enemy territory), but plan to hire a guide on Lake Murray before exploring on my own. Just a suggestion.
Well, I'm in Westminster now. Or, I should say my boat is. I still commute to Fla. to work until I bid a lob in in SC. My wife loves the area. I haven't even scouted out ramps yet. I have found a Yamaha dealer to handle my engine servicing needs in Seneca.
Lokking forward to getting on the lakes. Gotta find a inland lakes G-chart though.
