Yachtworld?
Can you get listings on Yachtworld.com?
I have heard it is fairly expensive, but it is the primere brokerage website, and it would be worth some extra $$$ to me.

RE: Yachtworld?
Hey TC,
My experience with yachtworld has been that people do associate it with brokers. You'll get a bunch of question, the last one being "when is the contract up with your broker". Most folks shopping are smart enough to know that the commission is usually factored into the price. Even if it's not they are fairly certain to pay 10% more than if it was FSBO and they know that.
Dominion enterprises owns boattraderonline, yachttraderonline, boats.com, and yachtworld. I have three of the four and cannot see someone not selling their boat because they are not on yachtworld but on every other boat classified site on the web.
They are also not very well optimized. Something I do on a regular basis is google search many different boats in many different ways. Yachtworld is rarely on the first page of results. Even if they are, yachttrader and boattrader are above them in the results.
The answer to you question is no. I cannot put just one boat on yachtworld. I would have to do it for all of my customers and it would increase my monthly overhead greatly for not much benefit.
We have sold 191 boats this season. It works pretty well the way it is
Hope that answers your question.....Tight lines, Bob

mainebaker - 9/11/2008 3:13 PM Top Cat, I can list your boat on Yachtworld if you are in Florida.

mainebaker, dude, move on, &pick up scraps somewhere else.
Bob has ponied up the cash to be a vendor here, it's pretty low class to post on his forum. If you're going to weasel your way in on another guys turf, try sending a PM next time.
Bob, thanks for the referral today. Time will come and my boat will sell, and then, so will yours!

Thanks Hoop,
I deleted his post trying to get free advertising. I also sent him a PM telling him to call me if he needs some pointers. More than happy to help a youngster trying to make it in this business but not a cool move coming into my house and posting commercially when he does not pay to do it here. That is my first peeve with brokers. They want to make the money on your boat but don't want to spend any to do it. #1 mistake. You have to spend the money and put in the time to get good at this. I have put in my 18 years.
Your Downeast will sell soon and I would be happy to see you tow away my JB. Then I know it went to someone that will treat her right!
Tight lines, Bob

RE: Yachtworld?
guys, Anglers is right. I am a broker by profession and use yacht world all the time to advertise. Most of the good leads seem to come from boattrader etc. Yacht world is very expensive and it is like an mls system for other brokers. I find it works well with huge boats that might be up for co brokerage but if your boat is priced well it will find the same traffic on the other sites. What he does is a great service for people that might want to get there boat out there to 1000's of people but don't want to shell out the 10% to have someone do it for them. I think its well worth the money to list with him. Just my 2 cents.

My experience is that a "civilian" cannot advertise on yachtworld.com. If its a broker-only site, then you'll find a smaller boat listed for $60K on boattrader and then for $68K or so on yachtworld. Doesn't take a looker very long to see that the price is always a good bit higher on yachtworld, so I've stopped searching that site.
That said, if I were looking for a larger boat (AKA a yacht), then it's probably the Number One site on-line.
I've sold several boats using anglersedgemarine, and have 4 people looking at my boat now that found it on one of his sites. Bob Figler provides us with an excellent and cost-effective vehicle for buying and selling our smaller "yachts".
