Random Quote: Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance !!!!!
Due to lack of use since we got the 230, the 171 is regretfully for sale - I've probably put more time on it in the driveway than in the water over the last two years. I'm located in Greenville, SC which is just off of I-85 between Charlotte and Atlanta. Asking $6,000. I would like to see this one go to someone as anal as me I can be reached at 864 918 8221
1991 171 Standard
- originally a tender to a Hatteras MY
- mostly freshwater for the last 6 years I've had the boat
- stored indoors for the last 3 years - covered prior to that
during my ownership
- new flip back cooler seat in 2005 - still in great shape
- new cushions in 2005 - still in great shape
- Standard Horizon Phantom VHF new in 2006
- Digital 8 ft Antenna new in 2006
- Dual Marine Stereo CD with Polyplanar cover - has I-pod hookup
- Eagle Seacharter GPS/Fishfinder Combo - GPS works well but I
believe the fishfinder needs a new transducer ($125). I would
suggest upgrading to a color unit.
- new stainless bow chocks 2009
- new switches in the last several years - all electrical items
work
- I just removed and reinstalled the bow rail to make sure it
was sealed properly - all looked good.
- it is extremely clean and relatively unmolested for an 18 year
old boat - there are some nicks a scratches here and there as
one might expect for a boat of this vintage.
1992 Yamaha 90 (title says 1994 but it's a 1992)
- hours unknown due to no meter
- extremely reliable and has never not started or left me stranded
- new factory lower unit in 2007
- new plugs, water fuel separator, gear lube every year I've owned
- only use semi-synthetic oil since I've owned
- decarb every year using seafoam since I've owned
- compression reading from several weeks ago is: 112, 105, 110
- I run for at least 20 minutes every month on the trailer if not
used on the water that month
- there is one bolt broken off the thermostat cover but after
installing a new thermostat with gasket and gasket sealant, it
has never leaked and I would not expect it to going forward
Magic Tilt aluminum trailer
- overall in really good condition
- regularly grease the hubs
- tires in decent condition - probably should replace within the
next 12 months
- new winch strap
