yeah right, Cats "will slow the boat down"????????? check your facts. The big volvo is almost 500 pounds heavier than than the C-12 cat. If cats are so haevy with do so many carolina boats builders use them? fact is Cat has the best warranty, best service and the best all around product right now. Buddy Davis boats are heavy boats C-18 cats would be a great repower option.

CATS are excellent motors, I don't know if they can claim "Best All Around" or not. In my opinion, the only down size to CATS is and always has been the price of parts and service work. CAT motor will consistently cost more to work on compared to Volvo, Cummins.

For a guy with the money and time, this boat is a Diamond in the rough!!! Someone is going to make a good buy and end up with a great boat and probably still be under market value.

Isn't it funny how everyone wants 30 knot cruise now, wasn't that long ago it seemed like every one wanted 30 MPH cruise (26 knot)...how times change.

Cats, Volvos, Cummins, DD, MTU Benz, anything but mann-grenades or yanmar is ok in my book. Bottom line is that a re-power in this boat, while not cheap, is well worth the effort. It will be a sweetheart with the right owner.

Tom, I dunno what the exact cost on the 8V2000 @ 800 hp is, but my guess is you're pretty close. The D9 575's I'm considering for the Hatt 41 will run a few queefs under 100K for the pair. Looks like nmfs fukt us again, huh Bro???

Cats cost more because of service?? not with new motors and 5 year extended warranties
