Default How To Upload Pictures to Listings

In order to add pictures or post a new listing in the classifieds forum, you have to be a paid "Admirals Club" member. You can sign up here: http://www.thehulltruth.com/payments.php

I've seen a lot of "I don't know" or "can't figure out" how to add pictures to for sale listings. As a boat voyeur and currently in the market for a boat it is super frustrating to me reading about a boat but not seeing pictures.

So I made a video how to upload pictures, including resizing them if needed. Hopefully this will help people add good pictures to their listings.

If you need to make your images smaller, try http://picresize.com/batch.php which will do them all at once. It's much faster than PicMonkey which is shown in the video and will do a bunch of images at once.

You can also use a 3rd party hosting solution. This works by uploading images to that site and then copy and pasting the code it gives you into the box here. I like this one http://imgbb.com/

If you need help, feel free to email me. I will need both the pictures and a link to the thread. My email is [email protected]

Nice tutorial. Personally, I prefer to go the "Photobucket" route. May take a little bit more effort to get started (i.e. starting a Photobucket account), but after that so easy to use. You just "copy" the image file of the pic you like in your Photobucket account and "paste" it into your post here on THT (or any other forum).

(my boys catching mahi on the Luckydutch II - sadly not in my possession anymore )

That is another option. However I like it when the pics are posted to the forum because later on some times people take down the pictures (or photobucket?) does and then you see a missing image. This is really frustrating when there is a how to or other technical stuff.

How do you add multiple pictures and then add text to each photo explaining something.

I don't think there is a way to add a caption to the picture directly, so you would need to add the image, then add text separately next to it.

Send me a link and pics in email I will add them.

What browser are you using? I don't see why it wouldn't show that option to people.

Even easier would be if you could just upload multiple files in the template that is provided.

Default "Security Token Missing"??

Just posted a boat for sale. After selecting pics and attempting to download them, a message appeared: "security token missing. Contact administrator and tell him what you were doing prior to message". What on earth is that??? How do I up load pics. No problem in the past.

No idea. You'd have to contact support, that seems like a server message. I didn't have any problem just now.

Can you please let me know what browser and operating system you are using? I don't know why it wouldn't have the same buttons for everyone.

To upload multiple pics you have to do it on a pc. MAC or ipad will only let you post one pic.

That's not true. I have uploaded multiple pictures on my Mac, iPhone and Chromebook.

What browser and version are you using?
