Someone is going to get a deal on this one. Tough as nails. Have been on this boat in gulf stream dozens of times. Surprisingly durable in big seas (6+ a few times) and handles like a true Carolina boat needs too. Bloody decks this one has seen. Worth taking a good look and a true wet test in big seas if you want to tournament king fish, recreation king fish, or fish the stream...if you haven't been on a Mckee Craft you need to. Great price for big time pelagic results! PM me and I'll send you pics of the fish casualties that I have personally witnessed on this vessel.

Yes, it has forward seating. Also has the 3 sided curtains/enclosures. All cushions are in good shape and have spare new original McKee bolsters with McKee graphics.

Just a great boat. I have witnessed the bloody decks as well, while fishing 60+miles offshore with no issues. The boat definitely out performed its footage in snotty seas.
I hate to see her go, but I am sure you are excited about moving up. What are you looking for?
Good Luck with the sale Mr. Robert.

Thanks, we have enjoyed the 24. Considering the McKee 28, Regulator 29, Onslow Bay 27, and Jupiter 29.

I've been offshore on this boat several times. Runs fast, good on fuel, handles ruff seas well. Somone's going to get a great boat. Hate to see it go...

Forgive me for asking but is 830 hrs a lot of hours? I am in the market for a 24 to 28 foot boat with twin engines. A buddy if mine is going to teach me how to fish the stream. I am new to fishing salt water. So I am a total newb and wouldn't go out with out him as he has fished the stream his whole life.

Anyway back on topic this is in my price range and is what I am looking for but am confused as to what is a lot of hours and what isn't. I know with Yamaha outboards a lot would be 3000 hrs until major overhauls, is what Yamaha claims. Same with Suzuki? Any advice would be great fellas I am here to learn and spend my money wisely. Thanks.

Default engine hours

SloScooter,

It is a very valid question. I am not an expert and have never taken a 4 stroke engine to 3000, 4000 + hours myself but I hear that its common and that <1000 hrs is relatively young. I believe it has a lot to do with how they are run and maintained. These have not been run hard and are well maintained. Most of the hours on mine are trolling offshore for gulf stream species and tournament King fishing. The trips to the stream are normally running in its sweet spot at about 3800 to 4000 rpms. They have never given me any problems. I think the Suzuki brand is as strong as Yamaha. I run a Yamaha 150 4-stroke on my flats boat. Both are great engines.

I am also curious how others view engine life.

830 hours on four strokes isn't a lot of hours as long as maintenance was done regularly as stated by the seller, nice boat by the way. Buddy of mine knew a local guy who had 140 suzuki four strokes and had over 10k+ hours on them. In my opinion suzuki makes one of the best engines.

i also know a guy who has over 4000 hours on a zuke 150. never left him stranded. 830 is nothing.
im a yamaha man but the zuke 4s reputation is solid! its the only other brand outboard i would consider.

now for the boat, that thing is bad ass! out of my price range but it will be a deal for someone. love the mckee freedom.

Default Engine hours

Thanks for the comments on the hours. I do believe that if you take care of the maintenance these engines can last a long time. I know Seatow and the Coast Guard run them hard and for a long time. The mechanics will tell you to run them hard and often. Its what they are made to do.

Ryan G - Thanks for the boat comments. Actually I am also considering the Cape Horn 31 for my next rig. I think they are well built and a very tough fishing machine. How have you liked your 24?
