I don't disagree about pricing them fairly, and price being the most important component in most transactions, although certainly not all of them.

But don't agree with you that many - even most "get it" when it comes to listing or selling a boat - just look at the ad's on THT - you still see many with the obvious mistakes; no price, no location, no fuel numbers, and so on.

You also see many what look like great boats, priced right, that just don't sell, and are "resurrected" every few weeks.

What may seem like common sense to you (and probably me) is not to many - I thought the guide was great and helpful - hey, I'm no mechanic or engineer - but I spent 35 years in sales - we all have strengths, and selling anything is not one for (apparantly) many.

True, common sense is not so common these days. Like I said, if you need a "guide" then more power to you. To me, it's just common sense.

Default Changing Title

I can't seem to change the title of my ad. The title as it shows up on the forum page is different than if you click on the thread. Help?

.

Many of the boats on boattrader have been there for 4 years. You can't bottom paint top tier CCs and expect 50% of new cost.

I sold my boat in 6 weeks and got exactly what I wanted for it. Beyond some good luck, I think the time I took to craft an attractive, easy to read ad made a huge difference. I based the ad off of all the other ads that made a positive impression on me, and the best pics I could take. Now I get to buy one!

Great! Buying is a lot more fun than selling.

A. No tears, mold, discoloration, scratches, cracks, latent defects, mildew, stains, trash/leaves, nothing less than fully 100% operational, gouges, cuts, barnacles, scum lines, broken skegs, dead batteries, ad infinitum.

Yep - I was looking at ATV's mowers boats and it is amazing how many people say - Hey for 30 bucks you can make it run (REALLY????? THEN WHY DON"T YOU DOIT???)

^ In order to post a Wanted to Buy ad, you must join the "Admirals Club," after which an Anchor will appear below your name. To do this, click on the Join the Admirals Club link at the top of any page (cost = $15/yr).

Then you can post a WTB ad in the Boats for Sale Forum.

If you have any questions, send me a PM.

TO THE MODS: I'm sure this has been brought up before....as far as the boats that have been sold, I understand the reason for not deleting the ads. They are a good source of information for comparison shopping. Would it be possible to have a separate page labeled "SOLD BOATS" instead of having them interspersed with all of the items currently for sale?

Default Good tips

Good tips. I like your idea of making a youtube video. I just read a blog recently about how to make your video go viral http://mjmmedia.com/how-to-make-your-video-go-viral/ . It explains the 6 elements very nicely that are required to make your video go viral.
Before you make your video, keep in mind that why are you making this video, what are your goals and how will you measure your success etc. You may get a pretty good deal.
