Default WTB....... 24' Privateer boat hull

I have a commercial buddy that is looking for a 24' Privateer boat hull. His was torn up when it was flipped by a rogue wave off of the beach and has a ton of damage on it.

He doesn't need power, going to use his old engine, it runs fine. If the price is right, he would take a powered one and just sell his motor.

CC is the preference but if one has a cuddy, he will just remove it.

Doesn't have to have a trailer but it is fine if it does.

Doesn't have to be pretty, it is going to be a commercial crabbing boat......

Thanks for the heads up if anyone has a lead on one.

Just Curious about what is so special about a privateer hull? I have a 24' older 2400CC Kevlar HydraSports hull I have been restoring that I might part with. The Hull is as solid as you can get.

Privateers are/were awesome boats! I had a 24' for about 7 years. Bought it used from a pilot captain in Hamton Roads. They beat the living crap outta that bought for many years before I bought it. It wasn't pretty, but was still very sturdy for my needs. The first couple of years I ran all over the bay with the 90hp Johnson. That thing sipped fuel, but would barely get on plane.

I finally swapped the motor (and a couple grand) for a used Johnson 225. WOW, what a difference that made!! Cruises out to the Tower were a blast! I miss that boat a lot and wish I'd never sold her....but I'm enjoying the "creature comforts" of my current boat, even if it only does 9 knots! LOL

Killer&Griller, I know Privateer's are good utility boats. I am using an old t craft 9'6'' beam and 24' length its hard to beat also.

As stated, he is a commercial guy. Being able to get into 6" of water is a big thing for him. (running over sandbars in the back creeks)

The layout of that boat works great for nets and crab pots.

They are one of the toughest boats out there, not many can withstand 75 - 125 pots hitting the sides and deck a day.

Thanks for keeping an eye out for me guys........

anglersedgemarine ....... will give him a ring tomorrow, thanks.

Privateer has outstanding customer service even today. They stand behind their product.

You don't find a whole lot of them for sale.
