1994 Grady Seafarer w/ Hard Top & 2004 Trailer - SOLD
SOLD * SOLD * SOLD
I am selling a 1994 Grady Seafarer 228 that is in excellent condition. This boat has a Volvo Penta 5.7L IO, factory hardtop, full eisenglass, electronics, 2004 galvanized trailer that is in like new condition, etc. The boat only has 373 hours. It was kept in New York and was winterized every winter and stored indoors year round. Never had bottom paint and the boat is in mint condition mechanically and cosmetically. I am in the process of purchasing a new boat and this one needs a home. Asking price is $17,500 OBO.
Sorry, I've been out of town and hadn't been able to reply to emails and pm's. Just catching up now.
The electronics are old but functional. It has an Icom VHF, Sitex GPS and depthfinder however they would be replaced if I was keeping the boat.
I failed to mention in the original post that the boat has a marine head in the cuddy cabin.
I will try to get some interior pics in the next couple of days. I keep getting home from work after dark. I'm expecting to pick up my new boat in about 2 weeks so I need to sell this one or I will have to take it to storage.
Boat is still available. I've had numerous inquiries about an engine survey. I took it in to my mechanic to go through the engine. He checked the cooling system, charging system, fuel system, compression, etc. The only thing he found was that the port riser and manifold were not flowing sufficiently. As a result I had him install a new exhaust manifold and riser on the port side.
Compression check showed all cylinders at 145 +- 2 psi.
I am now keeping this boat in storage and don't really want to keep it there much longer.
thanks cfarmd, she doesn't look like a '94. She could easily pass for a 2002 or newer.
I've had lots of questions about performance. I took her for a spin today in the ocean. In a steady 2' - 3' chop I measured the following:
* 2600 rpm = 26 mph
* 2800 rpm = 28-29 mph
* 3000 rpm = 32 mph
* 3200 rpm = 34-35 mph
* 3400 rpm = 38 mph
