Fireman -

It's not that the boat isn't worth $15k; in my opinion, you are trying to sell it at the worst stage of re-construction. Yes, I agree you have $15k into it right now but very few people have the skill or ability or fortitude to finish this boat. Additionally, if someone were to buy this boat right now, they would have an additional $20k to finish it (motor, rigging, console, electronics, paint).

A buyer could get a fished but "used" 25 Parker for $25-30k and start using it right now and not have 6-months of work to get it in the water.

If I wanted a 25ft Parker (and I have owned a 25 parker, GREAT boats) and was in the market to purchase, I would offer you $7-8k for this boat. I know the price is way under what you have into it but boats are not investments.

If you need to get rid of it right now, I'd say price it under $10k; if you can hold onto it, I'd suggest getting a used 250hp motor and finish it off if you can then sell it for $30k.

Good luck

FiremanPO,
I would have to agree with Chrisrack with everything he had to say ..... It's hard enough to sell a complete boat with todays economy, but to try to sell a boat that needs completion is surely not something that folks are looking at right now .... Like it was said earlier, you will really take a beating on this boat trying to sell it "as is" .....Put it together and sell it in the Spring .... At least this way you will get your money out of it ....You did a really nice job on this boat, and you should get rewarded for the work you put into it .....Good Luck ...Sincerely, Jim

So this is not a Parker 25 Souwester that you're redoing? Its a completely new hull? It looks like it will make a nice boat.

Same boat. Souwester = Parker (they were known as Parker Souwester in the early 1990's).

I know the connection between Parker and Souwester, I was asking if it was new or a rebuild.
