I have basically the same boat and have had it out 65 miles many times. I know others who have gone to the Hudson with this boat. You cannot beat the storage and the layout. Ride other boats in your price range and check out the layouts. I bet you will love the Laguna.
These boats do have a loyal following.

If your Flounder bound, look into a Carolina Skiff, there is a 198 DLV listed near your price range on the THT. You will need a shallow draft, good drift boat like a skiff. May Craft's new 23 and Sea Hunt's 21 are good in the new class, both around 25K. Under boat commerical section was a 25 DLV that was real nice for 20K. This would allow some near shore and inshore fishing.
