Default 31 NorthCoast / Blackfin (redone) - Fishing Machine!!

Some of you may already know the boat, but if not here it goes....This is a 1991 and was the last Northcoast made before blackfin took over the hull. This boat is fully loaded and has everything a 50 footer has. It was totally redone and very well kept. It is the deepest vee twin inboard production boat out there and is one of the best riding 31 foot hulls ever made. I have been on many boat in this size range and can tell you this thing just runs circles around any albemarle, carolina classic, bertram out there. The deadrise in the bow is something like 54 degrees which is really only found in custom carolina boats. She will cruise at 25-26 knots. You can cruise this boat at 23 knots in 4-5 foot seas from any direction period. It is truly an amazing head sea boat for it's size.

Some notables...

-New double spreader Rupp outriggers w/2 side center riggers
-Brand New Panda Diesel Generator ($10k)
-Reverse Cycle Heat/AC
-All new flushmounted electronics (Raymarine, Lowrance) Digital Tachs
-Bottom was stripped and barriorcoated in 2007
-Hull was Awlgripped flag blue in 2007 and waxed every year subsequently. Topside painted Snow White.
-Underwater light
-powerwinch windlass
-2 200 quart in-deck fishboxes with 220 quart icytek cooler/seat
-New DQX 4 blade Nibrals; New Shafts
-320hp Cat diesels - Solid 25 knot cruise..29/30 knots on the top end. (these are the very reliable 320hp cats and will last as long as you want them to last)

$ Best offer

Default Yup!

Yes they are 3208's - 320hp so they should last forever if you want them to. These are 10,000hr engines at the very least. Not the typical japanese diesel screamers of today.

Weakfish thanks for the kind words!

Tpr, I really don't have an asking price. If you are interested in the boat/price please call to discuss. I'm open to negotiating.

Default Turbo

Just put a Brand new turbo on the port engine at a cost of 6,000. Boat now top ends at 31 knots...Cruise all day at 26 knots if you want.

Thant means both engines have new turbos within the past 3 years. With the right offer I am willing to give a one year warranty on both engines.

this sure looks like a great boat

I think you'll get a much better response if you post a price especially if its a great price .
I would guess you'd only get lowball offers the way its advertised , not being a wise guy just my 2 cents

Default genset

Hey mike - joe from Stondoof...kinda sad to see you selling MJ...before you do - could i bum a few answers off ya ? Where did you put the genset? What was the final ptich and diam. on your wheels? When you painted the topsides, did you sand off the diamond non-skid and replace with the sand/awlgrip stuff?

For anyone thinking about it - this is a great boat. That is an expensive little genset on this boat, great electronics, great running gear (I've discussed this with MJs several times). The 3208Ts are fantastic engines - a little heavier than lighter machines avail, but ultra-reliable...and in recreational use, just about impossible to imagine wearing them out. ...not to mention that CAT has some of the best product support / dealer networks of any engine manufacturer in the world. You'd be hard pressed to find a 31foot boat wih bigger fishboxes, deeper V and all around better ride.

Joe,

Well if it makes you feel any better I am looking to get something bigger...haha my dad is going smaller and i'm going bigger.

We put the genset underneath the starboard side helmseat/tackle center. This allows for easy maintenance and the panda is just as quiet as below deck because it is in a sound insulated case.

As for the props we ended up finalizing them at 20x22.3 DQX 4 blades with a medium/light cup. The performance is phenominal compared to what we had as we cracked the 30 knot barrior on the top end with the addition of 2 new turbos.

As for the topside paint we did not paint the deck. We left the gelcoat nonskid pattern untouched.
