Found what I Wanted - 2007 24 Sea Hunt Triton $26.8K
I am looking for a 24' or 26' Sea Hunt Triton - Please - I am only looking for either one of these - nothing else.
24' Triton with a Yamaha Four Stroke 250 - I don't need a trailer, if it has one, great, if not that is fine too. It needs to be in excellent condition. I am willing to spend $24,000 - nothing more. If the search comes up empty handed that is fine - then the boat is out of my reach.
OR
26' Triton with twin Four Stroke Yamaha 150's - again, I do not need a trailer, if it has one, great, if not that is fine too. It needs to be in excellent condition. I am willing to spend $32,000 - nothing more. If the search comes up empty handed - that is fine.
If you have one or if you know of one, please let me know. There are a ton of dealer left overs that they are slashing prices on (as old as 2006). As a previous seller - I know what it is to be sitting on a boat and would like to give a chance to an individual to unload their boat.

Good luck with that!
I wish I could find those boats for those prices too! I would buy a couple of each.
You're not going to find those deals. The 240 was a new model in '07 and sold new for $40-50K depending on engine and options. The 260 came out in '06 and ran from $55-70K when new.
The market may be bad but nobody is marking down those boats 50% after just 2 or 3 years.
How can you say "nobody is selling at 50% after 2 years"??? It looks like there is a buyer in the market. That's a rare these days. 50% of MSRP from 2 years ago seems reasonable to me in this market.
I just sold my 12 month old OS 315 in mint condition for 56% of MSRP - someone is selling. I have been getting PMs from people listing their 2007 24's for $45,000 (firm). I can get a brand new 2009 for $42,000. I figure these boats were financed close to 100% of the purchase price so everyone trying to sell can not afford to. - Just thought I would put it out there - I do not mean to "insult" anyone - I know what I had to do to sell my boat so I figured that others may be in the same position.
I don't think 50% of MSRP in 2-3 years is unreasonable in this market. I think it might be unfortunate, but not unreasonable. I'm shopping for a used CC or WA for about $25,000 or less. I would certainly be a buyer for a 24' Sea Hunt Triton for $24,000.

That's a lot of asumptionsyou havethere.
I'm looking for an '08 Grady 360 for about $5-10K. I figure whoever bought one of these must have to get rid of it, and would be wiling to pay me to take it.
Sounds like you're looking for a steal, which you may well find in this market. Nothing wrong with asking.
What I find more un-realistic are the asking prices I see on boats that are 4-5 years old, and marked down maybe 20% off new. TONS and TONS of those out there. What you aowe on a boat loan has nothing to do with what the market will bear.
Boats do not have real MSRPs. Dealers make them up and pack them with crap like, dealer installed options, freight and prep. Their bogus "in house" printed stickers usually reflect about a 40% markup over cost. If you bought based on a bullshit MSRP you definitely got screwed. No wonder you lost 56% in one year. 24K for a used SH 240 ('07 or '08) .....you're crazy. I'll sink mine first for the agreed insurance value. You can have mine for 45K(firm) because, after two seasons, it looks better than new. However, to make the deal, you have to tell me where I can buy a loaded up '09 for 42K.

I see them on yachtworld, new, for 45k. If asking price is 45k, obviously you can get one somewhere for 42.
If I can get one new for 45, you can do all you want to a 2-year old boat to make ity look better. But it ai 't gonna sell for 45k unless you fill the center console with money. Now, you may have good electronics that cost a bunch, but cost doesn't necessarily equate with value.
The guy just put his offer out there, I don't get the defensive reactions. Tryin
Look guys, if I'm a cash buyer and am looking at a REPO boat or a boat that is about to be repo'ed, 50% off may not be out of the question. Banks want cash not inventory.

Very well said Jamie. I was toying around with the idea of trading in my rig (worth about $35k in this market) and getting something around $60k. The problem is some are still looking at what they paid for .vs. today's market value.

That's odd. I just did a search on Yachtworld for Sea Hunt Triton 240 and came up with only three 2007 models at $41,593, $42,000 and $42,677. No 2008s. Refined the search to 2009 Sea Hunt Gamefish 24 (SH changed the name of the 240 for the '09 model year) and it showed only one new '09 and did not list a price.
My reference to my boat at 45K was "tongue in cheek" as the OP mentioned that he had numerous PMs at that price... which I doubt. He also mentioned that he needed a very clean boat thus my reference to mine being "better" than new. You apparently missed my point. I certainly realize that my '07 will not bring 45K but 24K is a ridiculous offer. Unless, of course, it is a repo deal where a bank will accept an amount far below market value to get out of the boat.

Gotcha. I can see why some owners wouold get frustrated at people looking to take advantage of the situation. But I'm tentatively looking right now, and the prices I see for 4-5 year old boats are only 20% off new, and I think that's every bit as unlikely, probably more so, then what the OP here is looking for. "Deals" can be had just about any time. In this economy, if I have cash and I have patience, I'm looking for a once-in-a-lifetime "steal", not just a deal.
On a better note, I think you have a great rig that represents one of the best "bang for the bucks" out there. Hope you enjoy it, and I sure hope you don't have to sell in this market.
Done - Just bought an 07 for $26,800. It is funny to see the used ones listed for more than what dealers are listing their new ones for on Boat Trader and Yachtworld. I had a brand new 07 from the dealer down to $38,900 w/ 250 Yamaha. Thanks for all of the useful banter - good luck.
Re: Found what I Wanted - 2007 24 Sea Hunt Triton $26.8K
It was a 24' - yes I did go over the limit but it was a good deal from everything that I could see around. It was bought out of Jupiter from a private individual who already bought a bigger boat. He did well on the new boat he purchased and let this one go at a good price. It is actually not for me, helped a buddy find it for him and posted on here to see if anyone had a line. Kind of regret posting on here though based on some of the comments. My friend was a buyer with cash - all good intentions - sorry to those that are attached to their boats so much that it hurts when someone is looking for a deal.
