Dolphan: I'm looking at that 23T you pointed out on boattrader.com Anything that you saw that you didn't like about it? Don't mean to highjack your thread, but I'd appreciate the help. Thanks.
That 2006 looked great, I considered it as well until I found a brand new 2005 leftover for $50K out the door. I just returned home yesterday with it. I suggest you search the net deep, they are out there....What was the deal breaker with the 06?
I've been asking him the same thing, by PM and on here. Nada.
Homey, if you know of any other 23T's like the one you just picked up, I'd be grateful if you could point me in the right direction. I'd like to here more about your boat too.
Here is the boat I picked up on thursday. It was listed for $67,900. I offered them $50K out the door and they accepted. The add has a 250 Verado listed, It was a 275 Verado on the boat. Many options too. Click on the link. http://www.statelinesuperstore.com/m...ils.asp?id=484
There is a 2006 Contender 23T with 275 Verado on this thread (black Hull). I spoke with the dealer on the phone a month ago but he wouldn't go below $60K. He might now, don't know? I suggest you check all the boating websites you can find and search their archives using 23T. You'll be amazed at what you'll find. Good luck.
Upon inspection by a surveyor there were some scuffs on the bottom of the hull and a couple nicks on the side, gelcoat only, and also a trim tab not funtioning ,also the fluorescent was out on the T Top. He found no structural problems. It is my understanding, according to the seller, those issues have been resolved and the boat is ready to go. I did not have time to wait for the repairs and I live 9 hours drive time away so I can not just zip back to check it out.
Here is the link for the one in Ct. They do have the leaningpost, which if I remember correctly is the mini with backrest/rocket launchers. Not sure what other options are included... http://www.oceanperformance.com/boat...to/0152336.jpg

That was a nice deal, I went up there in November to check it out. Stored indoors for most of the past 3 years. Get the Verado updates taken care of and you will be good to go.
I figured they would take $50K for it, nice job. I just couldn't put enough spare change together. Working in financial services, things are a little dicey these days.
I have mentioned these Merc powered leftover Contenders here before:
i just wish that the 350 was not that heavy i would like to see real world ###s with a 23t & a f350?
I'm with you. I've seen triple F250's outperform (speed and fuel burn) twin F350's per Yamaha's performance bulletins on the bigger Contenders. I can only imagine the real world numbers would be worse on the F350s. The displacement on those things is just silly.
Go to hickorybluffmarine.com and look at the sweet 23T Buckshot has for sale! 2009 23T with single Yamaha F-350! 0+ mph boat! Very Sweet Boat! Have nothing to do with the dealership, just buy my boats from Buckshot at Hickory Bluff!

I went and looked at this boat, and found the above to still be true. The seller agreed to pay for the repairs to the trim tabs, so we splashed the boat for a sea trial. The boat ran 45 WOT, and cruised at 33mph at 2.6mpg. Needless to say, I bought it. Thanks to all THT members for the info and help.
Of course, on the first fishing expedition (yesterday) the Sureflow live well pump blew up, which I knew would happen (I hate Sureflow). Going with a Rule on the replacement. Let the spending begin. Couldn't be happier with the boat though. I had excellent dealings with Capt. Rothrock, the seller. THe boat was just as beautiful as it looked in the photos, and everything was exactly as represented, except for the tabs, which he immediately said he would pay for the repairs on.
I can't explain how good it felt to drive away with that boat. If any of you get a chance to buy a boat from Capt. Philip Rothrock, I highly recommend it. Great guy, and a straight shooter. Not too many of those out there.
